Student Consultants
Every student accused of a possible Honor System violation is assigned a peer consultant from the Honor Council Student Assembly. Consultants are fellow students who know the process well and can walk you through it.
What your consultant can do
- Point you toward other support on campus.
- Explain our policies, procedures, and the range of possible outcomes.
- Help you understand the letters and forms you receive.
- Talk through what a hearing looks like and how to prepare.
What your consultant is not
Consultants are not legal representatives or decision-makers. They do not advocate for you at a hearing and take no part in deliberations about your case. Working with your consultant is entirely optional, but they are there if you want them.
Confidentiality
Anything you share with an Honor Council member, whether student, faculty, or staff, is confidential.
